Restaurant — Izmir
Evening
Service.
Izmir · 2024
01Brief
A long-standing but worn restaurant wanted to keep its regulars while inviting a new generation. We had to renew the physical shell and the service flow without closing the kitchen — and refresh the character without erasing it.
02Concept
We split the room into three layers of light: the lively core of the bar, the warm focus of the tables and a quiet booth along the wall. We brought the open kitchen onto the stage and halved the distance between table and pass.
A good restaurant renovation doesn't erase the memory; it lights it better.
— Evening Service
03Material Palette
Aged brick, dark walnut, fluted glass and antique mirror. Copper service details and warm amber lighting set the evening rhythm. For acoustics, textured plaster on the walls and concealed absorbers in the ceiling.
04Build & Site
With the restaurant open six days a week, we worked on Monday closures and night shifts. We split the renovation into three phases and rebuilt the entire room in five weeks without stopping service for a single day.
05Outcome
After reopening, evening occupancy rose markedly and the average table dwell time lengthened. A 'familiar but new' room that reached a fresh audience without losing the old one.
